So I wrote a really long update last week and it disappeared on me. Disheartened, I avoided the computer for a week, but am back to try this again. Life's good!! I really can't complain!! A few new oddities around, but nothing too bad. For instance, there's this other person who keeps appearing in my bed each morning. I don't know how they get there, but they always do. I haven't kicked them out of bed yet, though I have been tempted to do so in moments of panic at early hours in the morning. Plus, she's really cute!! Married life... so far, so good! One month in I'm still as happy as ever. There's just no comparison to the joys of companionship - just that someone is always there when you come home and someone to talk to about everything. Definitely loving that! To say that things are great would be an understatement. We're VERY, VERY HAPPY TO BE MARRIED TO ONE ANOTHER!!! Now, I'm not naive enough to suspect that it will always be like this... but I will relish every second that it is!!!! But married life certainly didn't get any less busy. Monday's we (sometimes) attend Fiona's old small group. Tuesdays we both have outdoor soccer: I play on a team, and Fiona has agreed to training the girls' team at practices, which is great!!! Wednesday nights we have our church small group, which we both really enjoy a lot. Thursday's I've been playing on an Indoor Soccer Team (which should end in a month or two though). And then I try and get twenty hours of work in between those, University, homework, and spending time with my wife. Sometimes sacrifices must be made... so I skipped a class early this morning to hang out with Fiona and sleep in a little longer. (Don't worry mom & dad, it wasn't an important one...) I really have some great classes this semester. My favorite is called "Deakin TV". Some of you know that I (and the rest of my family) am a sick SPORTS NIGHT fan. Well, this class is doing exactly what they do in that show. We are learning how to put together and produce tv shows. And for our final, that's exactly what we're doing. Our class of 25 gets one take to do everything right and put it onto tape and we all share the same grade. I can be Dana, Natalie, Jeremy, Chris, Will, Dave, Casey or Dan, Kim, Jerome, or Monica. (i.e. Producer, Assistant Producer, Assistand Director, Lights, Sound, Graphics, Acting, Floor Manager, Camera-man, or props and clothing, etc.).... GOOD TIMES!!! Since (right now) I'm hoping to be a Sports Broadcaster, I think it's going to be awesome. I also have a class on photography and get to use a 35 year-old 35mm SLR (singe-lense reflex) camera. And then I have two Communication Theories classes (lots of reading and essay writing). Fiona and I are trying to get more involved in our church as well and are really digging into the community of fellowship we have there. We (I) really like our minister there and am meeting with him every couple of weeks for some discipling/mentoring opportunities. But every time I go to church I still miss my "old" home church in Spittal and my "newer" home church back in Tampa. They're just all such amazing places of learning and belonging and I want you all to know that I miss you!! Now, you've seen lots of photos of the wedding (from Fiona's site) and we do have more that will be on the way soon. However, I wanted to share with you the JOY that lasted for the entire week leading up to the wedding. We had several friends and family members from all over the world with us for the days prior to February 3rd, and we made memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life!!! Fiona and I decided a while back that we were not going to "work up until the last second" at our jobs, but wanted to spend that last week with our loved ones. For anyone who is planning on getting married: It was one of the best decisions we've made!!!!!! Some of you who were here may be reading this and all I can say is THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for coming, thanks for sacrificing so much time and finances to come share an AWESOME time with us. You've touched us immeasurably and we can't express our gratitude enough!!!! And for those that weren't able to come, but dropped us thoughtful and encouraging e-mails, comments, and phone calls - THANK YOU TO YOU TOO!!!!!!!! Those did not go unnoticed or unappreciated! And as Fi has mentioned we're planning a Reception in Denver, CO for the Saturday afternoon on July 21st. We'll also be there a couple days before and after, so feel free to come hang out for a few days (it can kinda be another mini BFA-reunion for some of you as well). Okay, this is the last paragraph, I swear. I just was going to say a few things about the honeymoon. We flew out to Caloundra, Queensland which is on the Sunshine Coast (a.k.a "Surfer's Paradise). We had a wonderful time and a generous Christian couple there allowed us to stay in their beach-front apartment for free (no, they weren't there). Stuart and Lucy Bradley (friends of the Johnstons) picked us up at the airport and took us to our place. The area lived up to its much-promising name and the temperatures ranged between 28-32C all ten days (though it did finally rain the day we flew out). We had a great time there, but were excited to get back to "our house" in East Ringwood. That's where I've updated all this from right now. I doubt most have really read this, but don't feel bad - I probably wouldn't have either. I'll try to make them shorter and more frequent. But for now, here are lots of pictures from the Wedding Week and Honeymoon. Love to all! Cheers!! This is me at my bartending job (which I had to quit a couple weeks ago) with mom and my car outside my university with Sunny, John, and Fiona in the Dandenongs (Mike Johnston behind camera) I just thought this was a cute one of the bridesmaids! walking to a cool place called Cape Shanck holding hands Get off my back!
